About this Story
It takes a decent bit of effort to climb the stairs to the temple, but it is well worth it. This place is full of beautiful monkeys. Each of them with a face full of mystery. The place is named Swayambhunath, and is an ancient religious complex atop a hill in the Kathmandu Valley, west of Kathmandu city. It is also known as the Monkey Temple as there are monkeys said to be "holy" living in the north-west parts of the temple. The temple complex consists of a stupa, a variety of shrines and temples that date back very far. We captured a man creating candles, people spinning prayer wheels, and the overall ambience of this place.
