About this Story
The highest road in Oregon at over 9,700 feet - the Steens Summit Loop is an incredible drive. In fact - the entire trip through high desert from Burns is worth seeing. The wild west is alive at Steens Mountain (not plural 's' - it's geologically one big mountain). Wild mule deer, pronghorns, and wildflowers are visible at the summit. Epic cliffs - seen though timelapse and real-time by day and night. Also includes other great basin sagebrush dry scenery of the American West - far from Portland and Eugene. Gorgeous cloud timelapse. Nature, natural, wild, cow, cattle, old west, range. For the best Steens wildflower - check out my 'Perfect Paintbrush' story.
