Simple, filmmaking combines so many of my favorite subjects. It allows me to meet new people and get to know them on a deeper level than most "client/contractor" relationships. I get to explore new places and fields. And finally I get to play with cutting edge technology in a manner that pushes me to find its limits. My formal path was in science and architecture. But what I've learned is how those fields have influenced my filmmaking in a way that is hugely beneficial to the way I create. The analytical preparation. The desire for perfection in craft. New ways of problem solving. These ideas easily translate to filmmaking.

When I think back to my memories growing up I relate them so much with light.
Coming from the midwest I am easily tired by the repetitive landscape. I love traveling to new places and gaining new inspiration.
I love the small stories of people. I love the stories shared by strangers only after a few drinks. Or only amongst closest friends.
