I chose filmmaking because I felt it was the way that I could do something that could truly make an impact. I started my professional life as a musician working in churches. While there, I started making videos and telling stories of the people in the church and felt like something was starting to click for me. The reactions and impact of the stories we told had much more impact than anything I could play on my guitar and could reach farther than the room I was playing in.
I chose filmmaking because it makes an impact in a way I don't think other mediums can. It's authentic. It's emotive. And ultimately, a story goes well beyond the filmmaker and that's what excites me about it.
